RANDY’S DANDY IN DUCKS WIN

(Bridgewater, N.J., Sept. 20, 2012) – The Long Island Ducks defeated the Somerset Patriots 5-1 on Thursday night in the final game of a rain-shortened two-game series at TD Bank Ballpark.

Long Island jumped on the scoreboard in the opening inning thanks to a Lee Cruz two-run homer, his second in as many nights, off Patriots starter Doug Arguello. Somerset answered with a run in the bottom of the frame on Corey Smith’s RBI single off Ducks starter Randy Keisler.

Two more runs came across for the Flock in the second on a two-run double to left-center by Kraig Binick. A RBI double down the left field line for Brandon Pinckney in the sixth rounded out the scoring.

Keisler (5-3) picked up the win, tossing six innings of one-run ball, allowing just five hits while striking out five. Arguello (6-8) suffered the loss, surrendering five runs on seven hits and five walks with eight strikeouts in six innings.

Pinckney’s three hits led the Flock, while Mitch Canham added two.

The Ducks head to Camden to open their final series of the regular season on Friday night against the Riversharks. Game time is slated for 7:05 p.m. from Campbell’s Field. Fans can follow all the action live on the radio at MyCountry 96.1 FM and online at LIDucks.com by clicking the Listen Live icon on the homepage.
