POSTGAME VIDEO: Kevin Baez, Ray Navarrete, Bryant Nelson, Jason Monti and Mike Loree talk about the doubleheader split

York plated two runs in the first against Ducks starter Mike Loree on back-to-back solo homers by Scott Grimes and Ramon Castro. Another run in the second on a wild pitch and three in the fourth on a RBI single from Bobby Kielty, and a two-run homer from James Shanks stretched the lead to 6-0. Bryant Nelson added a solo homer in the eighth for Long Island, but it wasn't enough.

York starter Shawn Hill (1-0) got the win, as he tossed six and one-third innings, allowing four hits while striking out seven. Loree (2-1) suffered the loss, yielding six runs on 10 hits with five strikeouts in five innings.

The Ducks and Revolution wrap up their series on Sunday afternoon. Game time is set for 1:35 p.m., with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at 12:35. It’s Stranger Safety Awareness Day at the ballpark, and the first 1,500 fans in attendance will receive a Ducks Logo Baseball, courtesy of The Rose Brucia Educational Foundation and St. Joseph’s College. Duck Tales: With a single, Ray Navarrete has now reached base safely in his last 21 games, the longest on-base streak by a Duck this season. The seven-year Ducks has also picked up hits in 10 consecutive games and 19 of his last 21…Bryant Nelson’s solo homer in the eighth was his second solo blast of the doubleheader, with both of them coming in the eighth inning. The 38-year-old has now launched five homers in 2012, with four of them coming at Bethpage Ballpark…The Ducks bullpen had another solid outing, tossing four scoreless innings in relief of Mike Loree. Connor Graham, Dan Meyer and Jared Lansford combined to allow just two hits and two walks while striking out six in those four innings.
