Lancaster jumped out to a 5-0 lead with single runs in each inning from the second through the sixth off Ducks starter Bob Zimmermann. A sac fly from Blake Gailen and a run scoring error, along with a pair of RBI singles and a solo homer by Fehlandt Lentini, did the damage. Ray Navarrete got the Ducks on the board with a RBI single to center in the sixth off Lancaster starter Mark Brackman.

The Stormers answered back with a run in the seventh on an infield single from Gailen and two more in the eighth to round out the scoring. Brackman (1-1) earned the win, tossing six innings, allowing just one run on six hits while striking out three. Zimmermann (2-1) suffered the loss, yielding six runs (five earned) on 11 hits in six and one-third innings.

Navarrete led the Ducks with three hits, while Matt Esquivel added two for the Flock.

The Ducks and Barnstormers continue their series on Tuesday night. Game time is slated for 6:35 p.m., with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at 5:35. Lefty Randy Keisler takes the mound for Long Island against Lancaster southpaw John Halama. It’s “Pet Supplies Plus Tuesdays” at the ballpark.
