Contestants chosen to sing National Anthem during All-Star Summer

(Central Islip, N.Y., April 13, 2018) – The Long Island Ducks, in conjunction with 106.1-FM WBLI, have announced the winners of this year’s Anthem Idol competition. The contest took place on Saturday, April 7 at Bethpage Ballpark.

Performers vied for six openings to perform the National Anthem before a Ducks game during the 2018 All-Star Summer, presented by Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center. Each contestant, which included individual singers and a capella groups, performed a 90-second rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” for a judge panel that featured WBLI Radio Host Kiana and Ducks On-Field Host Jason Linnick.

“The quality among this year’s contestant pool was second to none,” said Ducks Director of Promotions and Marketing Jordan Schiff. “We want to thank everyone who came out and auditioned at the ballpark on April 7, and congratulations to all of our winners.”

The following are the winners of this year’s Anthem Idol contest:

Jordan Amato (South Setauket)

Nick D’Auria (Islip)
