Ducks Home Opener is Friday, May 3rd; Regular season begins April 26th
 

(Central Islip, N.Y., Oct. 18, 2018) – The Long Island Ducks, in conjunction with the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, today announced the dates and starting times for the 2019 regular season, featuring 70 home games at Bethpage Ballpark. The Ducks also unveiled their official 20th Anniversary Season logo, which will be featured on team merchandise, marketing and promotional platforms leading up to and throughout 2019.

The Home Opener for the 20th Anniversary Season will take place at Bethpage Ballpark on Friday, May 3rd, against the York Revolution, with first pitch scheduled for 6:35 p.m. The Ducks will begin the 2019 season on the road against the Revolution on Friday, April 26th.

The 2019 season will feature a 140-game schedule divided into two 70-game halves. The first half of the season will conclude on Sunday, July 7th, at home against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs, while the second half will wrap up on Sunday, September 22nd, at home opposing the High Point Rockers. The Rockers, who are slated to play their home games at BB&T Point Ballpark in High Point, N.C., are entering their inaugural season of play in the Atlantic League and will take the place of the Road Warriors in the Liberty Division. The Road Warriors took the place of the Bridgeport Bluefish for the 2018 season while construction took place in North Carolina on the league’s new ballpark. The regular season’s two halves will be separated by the Atlantic League All-Star Game, which will be hosted by the Revolution at PeoplesBank Park in York, Pa. on Wednesday, July 10th.

Fans will have the opportunity to enjoy 11 home weekends (Friday-Sunday) with the Ducks, including three in May. The team will take the field for its first Atlantic League Championship Series rematch with the Sugar Land Skeeters on the road from May 10th through 12th, with their first home series against the Skeeters taking place from May 24th through 26th. In addition, the Ducks will host their Seventh Annual Camp Day on Tuesday, July 23rd, against the New Britain Bees, with first pitch slated for 11:05 a.m. The full promotional schedule, including theme nights and giveaways celebrating the Ducks 20th Anniversary Season, will be released in early March.

The team’s 20th Anniversary Logo (pictured above) features the famous Duck Head logo amidst the words “20th Anniversary Season”. It is also flanked by the number 2000, marking the team’s inaugural season of play on Long Island, and the number 2019, signifying the team’s 20th season of play. In addition to featuring the Ducks traditional orange and green colors, the logo’s diamond shape is outlined with a strip of teal in a nod to the team’s original marks and promotional materials released prior to the inaugural 2000 season.

All Monday through Saturday games at Bethpage Ballpark will begin at 6:35 p.m. (exception: game one on May 18th), while start times for Sunday contests will be 1:35 p.m. in May, June and September and 5:05 p.m. in July and August.
