National Anthem auditions to take place at Bethpage Ballpark
 

(Central Islip, N.Y., March 25, 2019) – The Long Island Ducks and 106.1-FM WBLI today announced that the annual “Anthem Idol” competition will take place at Bethpage Ballpark on Saturday, April 6th.

“Season after season, the talent level of our contestant pool continues to rise,” says Ducks Director of Marketing and Promotions Jordan Schiff. “This year will surely be no different, and we look forward to seeing which candidates will have the opportunity to perform during the 2019 season.”

Registration will take place promptly at 9:30 a.m. on April 6th, with auditions to follow shortly thereafter. In order to speed up the registration process, contestants are encouraged to fill out the Anthem Idol application form, which can be printed by CLICKING HERE. Those attending should bring their completed forms with them to the ballpark on April 6th. Forms WILL NOT be accepted prior to the event.

Anthem Idol contestants will be vying for one of six openings to perform the National Anthem during the Ducks 20th Anniversary Season, presented by Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center. Judging the competition will be select representatives from WBLI and the Long Island Ducks.

All performances must be completed a capella and have a time limit of one minute and 30 seconds. Anthem lyrics must be sung from memory, while musicians are also encouraged to participate in the contest. No audio/video tapes will be accepted. The lucky winners of the 2019 Anthem Idol competition will each be notified in the weeks following the event.
