Six contestants chosen to sing during 15th Anniversary Season
(Central Islip, N.Y., Apr. 11, 2014) – The Long Island Ducks, in conjunction with 106.1-FM WBLI, held their annual “Anthem Idol Contest” on Saturday, April 5 at Bethpage Ballpark. Registrants vied for six openings to perform the national anthem before a Ducks game during the 2014 season. Each contestant sang a 90-second rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” before the judges, Ducks on-field host Fred Forgione and WBLI radio personality Astra.
“We were blown away by the wonderful performances by the singers who came out to ‘Anthem Idol’ this year,” Ducks promotions and community outreach manager Jordan Schiff said. “The decisions were tough to make, but we look forward to seeing our six winners step into the spotlight this summer.”
The winners of this year’s “Anthem Idol” contest are as follows:
-The duet of Kordell Hammond & Amy Paulino from Bay Shore
-Grace McMillan from Wading River
-Jessica Pecorella from West Islip
-Kassidy Rieder from Lindenhurst
-Kristyn Rivera from Coram
-The duet of Jeannine Willms & Michele Sivori from Deer Park
These lucky six will perform “The Star-Spangled Banner” at Bethpage Ballpark prior to a Ducks game during the 15th Anniversary Season. The Long Island Ducks and WBLI would like to thank everyone who auditioned and for helping make the 2014 “Anthem Idol” contest a memorable day.
