Meet the Flock for the first time this season

(Central Islip, N.Y., April 19, 2014) – The Long Island Ducks host the team’s Second Annual Fan Fest at Bethpage Ballpark TODAY!. This will be the first chance for fans to see the back-to-back champs take the field in preparation for the 15th Anniversary Season of Ducks baseball on Long Island.

The Fan Fest will begin at 10:30 a.m. and feature a variety of different events for fans to enjoy. Guests will enter through three separate lines at the West Gate. Season ticket holders will enter through their VIP Red Carpet entrance on the left side of the West Gate. Bethpage Federal Credit Union/Long Island Ducks Kids Club members will enter on the right side of the West Gate, and the general public will gain access to the ballpark from the middle line.

Season Ticket Holders will be able to take part in their annual season ticket holder barbeque, which will be hosted in the Hebrew National Picnic Area beginning at 11:30. Those attending the barbeque will be treated to an all-you-can-eat picnic along with visits from Ducks players and coaches. Season ticket holders will also be able to pick up their VIP gifts anytime during Fan Fest at the Newsday Customer Service Center. Those attending Fan Fest will also have an exclusive opportunity to watch the team take batting practice at Bethpage Ballpark.

Members of the Bethpage Federal Credit Union/Long Island Ducks Kids Club will have the opportunity to celebrate QuackerJack’s birthday party at the ballpark. The event will take place in the Smokin’ Al’s Party Deck beginning at 11:30. Members will get to sing “Happy Birthday” to Long Island’s favorite mascot while taking pictures and enjoying hot dogs, cake and beverages.

A host of fun activities will also be available for the general public along the concourse at Bethpage Ballpark, free of charge. Kids will have a blast bouncing around in the Long Island Ducks Bounce House or zooming down the brand new “DuckTail” Inflatable Slide. Fans can also test their arm by visiting the Speed Pitch or make an everlasting memory of their visit to the Duck Pond in the Photo Booth. The Waddle In Shop will be open as well, and those in attendance will be able to purchase a wide selection of brand new Ducks merchandise.

At approximately 12:40 p.m., fans will be introduced to the 2014 Long Island Ducks for the very first time as players and coaches line up along the first base line. Following introductions, the Ducks will take the field for a spring training game against the cross-sound rival Bridgeport Bluefish, with first pitch slated for 1:05. Right-handed pitcher and 2013 Atlantic League Championship Series MVP John Brownell is slated to start for the Ducks.
