Czark family arrives 53 hours prior to box office opening on Saturday
 

(Central Islip, N.Y., March 17, 2016) – On Thursday morning, the Czark Family of Setauket arrived at Bethpage Ballpark 53 hours prior to Long Island Ducks individual tickets going on sale for the 2016 season. This marks the third consecutive year that they are the first fans in line for the team’s annual Opening Day of Ticket Sales. The Czarks will be the first to purchase their tickets when the box office opens at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 19.

“Forget Punxsutawney Phil,” said Ducks President/GM Michael Pfaff. “The true sign that winter is ending on Long Island is when the first fans show up in line for tickets at the ballpark.”

Christopher Czark, along with his twin nine-year-old daughters, Brianna and Kaylin claimed their spot as “first fans in line” by setting up a tent., chairs and snacks outside the West Gate of the ballpark at 5:00 a.m. Chris’ wife, Sharon, and son, Patrick, 13, will also be joining in the fun. The Czarks prepared for their stay with sleeping bags, warm blankets, board games, baseball mitts, footballs and much more.

The Ducks invite everyone to join the Czarks for all of the fun-filled activities planned for Saturday. The Wiseman of WHLI will emcee the morning excitement from the ballpark and get fans ready to secure their tickets. QuackerJack will join Ducks manager Kevin Baez, coach Buddy Harrelson and outfielder/bench coach Lew Ford to greet all fans, sign autographs and take pictures. There will also be a special appearance by Chipper, the mascot of Herr’s Potato Chips, back this year as the official chip of Ducks. Kids will be able to enjoy the Ducks Bounce House and Speed Pitch as well.

New for 2016, the Ducks are proud to have GameTruck Long Island on hand to provide extra entertainment for all of those in attendance. Fans will be able to play a host of popular video games both inside and outside their mobile unit on HD Flat Panel televisions and the latest game consoles, including XBox One, PlayStation 4 and Wii-U. Centerplate, the official concessions partner of the Long Island Ducks, will provide complimentary food and beverages for fans as they wait on line, including coffee, hot chocolate and bagels. Several other food partners will also be providing treats for fans to enjoy. The Waddle In Shop, the official merchandise store of the Ducks, will also be open from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Fans will be able to browse a wide range of Ducks apparel and gifts, including several brand new items!

All of the fun will lead into the opening of the Bethpage Ballpark box office at 10:00 a.m. Prior to the opening, the Czarks will receive gifts, courtesy of Ducks sponsors Bethpage Federal Credit Union and LaVida Massage, along with some special prizes from the Ducks for their dedication.
