Single admission doubleheader scheduled for Monday, June 30

(Central Islip, N.Y., June 13, 2014) – Friday’s (June 13) series finale between the Long Island Ducks and Bridgeport Bluefish has been postponed due to inclement weather.

Adam Bailey put the Ducks in front 2-0 in the second inning on a two-run home run to right off Bluefish starter Kanekoa Texeira. It remained that way until the bottom of the third inning when the skies opened up, and the game was officially postponed after a rain delay of two hours and 10 minutes.

Friday’s (6/13) game will be made up as part of a single admission doubleheader on Monday, June 30 beginning at 6:00 p.m., with both games slated for seven innings. Fans with tickets to Friday’s (6/13) game can exchange their tickets at the Bethpage Ballpark box office for any 2014 regular season Ducks home game, subject to availability.

The Ducks begin an eight-game road trip on Saturday with a day/night doubleheader against the Somerset Patriots. Game one is slated to begin at 12:00 p.m. from TD Bank Ballpark and last seven innings, with game two following at 7:05 and scheduled for nine innings. Right-hander Rob Whitenack makes his debut for the Ducks in the opener against Patriots lefty Matt Maloney. Game two will feature righty Shaun Garceau for Long Island and right-hander Erik Arnesen for Somerset.Fans can follow all the action for game one of the twinbill live on the Ducks official YouTube channel. Long Island returns home on Saturday, June 21 for a day/night doubleheader with the Sugar Land Skeeters. First pitch for game one is slated for 1:05 p.m., with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at 12:05. It’s peanut-free day at the ballpark! There will be no sale of peanuts during the game to allow those suffering from peanut allergies the chance to attend a baseball game. Game two is scheduled for 7:05 p.m., with the ballpark gates opening at 6:05. Following the game, all fans in attendance will be treated to a Pyrotecnico Fireworks Extravaganza, presented by NYCB.
