Inclement weather ends game in fourth inning with Ducks leading 4-1

(Sugar Land, Texas, May 26, 2014) – Monday’s (May 26) game between the Long Island Ducks and Sugar Land Skeeters at Constellation Field has been postponed due to inclement weather.

The Ducks had built a 4-1 lead through three innings prior to the game being called. Following a 34-minute rain delay before first pitch, Joash Brodin delivered a two-out RBI single in the first off Skeeters starter David Pauley. After another delay of just over an hour, three runs in the second on a throwing error by Koby Clemens and a two-run single by Lew Ford extended the lead to four. Ryan Langerhans picked up a RBI single off Ducks starter Fernando Hernandez in the third before the skies opened.

Monday’s (5/26) game will be made up at a later date. The Ducks continue their seven-game road trip on Tuesday night when they open a three-game series in Pennsylvania against the Lancaster Barnstormers. Game time is slated for 7:00 p.m. at Clipper Magazine Stadium. Right-hander Jared Lansford gets the start for the Ducks against Barnstormers southpaw Clayton Tanner.
