Help the Ducks earn more titles by casting your ballot through December 15

(Central Islip, N.Y., Oct. 17, 2019) – Voting has officially begun for this year’s Long Island Press “Best of Long Island” contest, and the 2019 Atlantic League champion Long Island Ducks have been nominated among five different categories. Fans can cast their ballot once per day from now through Sunday, December 15th.

To vote for the Ducks, visit the “Best of Long Island” page by CLICKING HERE. Select any of the section links below, scroll to categories the Ducks are nominated in, and select “Vote” next to the desired nominee.

QuackerJack is up for the Best Long Island Mascot award in the Arts & Entertainment section of the ballot. The lovable mascot is seeking his 10th consecutive selection for the honor. QJ is the President of the Ducks Kids Club, presented by Bethpage Federal Credit Union, and can constantly be seen in the community visiting local hospitals, schools, little leagues and many other organizations. QuackerJack’s energy pumps up the crowd at Bethpage Ballpark during Ducks games and helped lead the Flock to the 2019 Atlantic League Championship.

For the 12th consecutive year, fans will be able to vote for the Best Long Island Duck in the Sports & Activities section. 15 members of the 2019 Championship team are eligible to receive this year’s honor. Included in the group are right-handed pitcher Joe Iorio, voted by fans as the Delmonte-Smelson Team Most Valuable Player, and infielder Deibinson Romero, selected as the Championship Series MVP. 10-year Ducks outfielder Lew Ford is also on the ballot and has been voted Best Long Island Duck for five consecutive years.

The Ducks have also been nominated for three categories in the Food section of the contest. The plump and juicy Nathan’s hot dogs served at Bethpage Ballpark are up for the Best Hot Dogs award. The crispy golden french fries available in the ballpark have been nominated for Best French Fries. Additionally, the tasty treats from Philly Pretzel Factory, which debuted at Bethpage Ballpark in 2019, are among the choices for Best Soft Pretzel.
