FRIAS' THREE-HIT NIGHT NOT ENOUGH FOR FLOCK

York hits three home runs to take middle game of series

(Central Islip, N.Y., Aug. 25, 2021) – The Long Island Ducks were defeated by the York Revolution 7-2 on Wednesday night in the middle game of a three-game series at Fairfield Properties Ballpark.

A second inning leadoff solo home run to right-center field by Nellie Rodriguez off Ducks starter Brendan Feldmann gave York a 1-0 lead. A sacrifice fly to left off the bat of James Harris in the third made it 2-0 Revs. Vladimir Frias got the Ducks on the scoreboard in the fourth with an RBI single through the right side off Revolution starter Jhoendri Herrera.

The Revolution got their two-run lead back in the sixth on a two-out solo homer to left by Melky Mesa. Osmy Gregorio’s RBI single up the middle in the eighth made it 4-1. Steve Lombardozzi closed the gap to 4-3 in the bottom of the eighth with an RBI single to right, but a three-run homer to left by Harris in the ninth put the game out of reach.

Herrera (2-1) earned the win, tossing five and one-third innings of one-run ball, allowing six hits and five walks with two strikeouts. Feldmann (4-3) took the loss, giving up three runs on three hits and three walks over six innings with five strikeouts. Fuller earned his 18th save after recording the final four outs.

Frias led the Flock offensively with three hits, an RBI and a run. Lombardozzi added two hits, an RBI and a walk.
