QuackerJack Foundation donates proceeds to organizations in attendance
(Central Islip, N.Y., Sept. 10, 2014) – The Long Island Ducks held their Ninth Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Night on Tuesday, September 9, presented by PinkTie.org/1st Equity Title and Closing Services/Steiner Sports. During the game, fans were able to bid on the commemorative pink jerseys worn by the Ducks throughout their game against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs.
Bids started at $75 and were increased in minimum $10 increments. Fans were able to place their bids by visiting the auction tables located across from the Waddle In Shop on the main concourse behind home plate. Bidding ran through the conclusion of the top of the seventh inning during the Sept. 9 game against the Blue Crabs. Below are the winners from the Breast Cancer Awareness Pink Jersey Auction.
Proceeds from the auction benefitted the many Breast Cancer Awareness organizations and coalition in attendance on Tuesday night on behalf of the QuackerJack Foundation, the charitable arm of the Long Island Ducks. The QuackerJack Foundation has contributed to thousands of non-profit and like organizations each year while bringing awareness to worthy programs and causes in need of assistance on Long Island.
Among the other highlights from the Ninth Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Night included an appearance by PinkTie.org spokesperson and 1985 National League Cy Young Award winner Dwight Gooden, who threw out a ceremonial first pitch before the game. “Doc” will return to the Bethpage Ballpark again on Thursday, September 18 to take part in the Doc Gooden “K’s for a Kause” Challenge.
