Bio

Russo begins his first season wtih the Ducks and second in professional baseball. He began his career in 2018 with the Alpine Cowboys of the Pecos League. In 15 games, he batted .344 with one home run, 14 RBIs, 15 runs, 21 hits, one triple, four stolen bases and three walks. During 2020, the Westbury native took part in the All-American Baseball Challenge. As a member of the Jersey Wise Guys, he hit .312 with two homers, 14 RBIs, 11 runs, three doubles, one stolen base and four walks in 16 games.

The 26-year-old played his collegiate baseball on Long Island. He spent the 2015 season at Hofstra University, playing in eight games. He then joined SUNY Old Westbury, playing for three seasons with the Panthers (2016-18). Overall, in his four seasons of college baseball, he posted a .387 batting average, three homers, 73 RBIs, 117 runs, 179 hits, 42 doubles, 12 triples, 58 stolen bases, 37 walks and a .441 on-base percentage in 119 games.
