Bio

Ramos begins his first season with the Ducks and 18th in professional baseball. The catcher spent 12 years in the Major Leagues with the Minnesota Twins (2010), Washington Nationals (2010-16), Tampa Bay Rays (2017-18), Philadelphia Phillies (2018), New York Mets (2019-20), Detroit Tigers (2021), and Cleveland Indians (2021). He combined to play in 990 games, totaling 136 home runs, 534 RBI’s, 362 runs, 946 hits, 151 doubles, two triples, one stolen base, 245 walks, a .271 batting average, a .318 on-base percentage, a .432 slugging percentage, and an OPS of .750. Ramos is a two-time All-Star (2016 and 2018), and was a Silver Slugger Award winner in 2016 as well.

 

Ramos began the 2023 season with Acereros de Monclova of the Mexican League, where he tallied eight hits (two doubles), three RBI’s, four runs scored, and six walks in 12 games played. He made his Major League debut with the Twins on May 2, 2010 at Progressive Field versus the Cleveland Indians, going 4-5 in the ballgame with three singles and a double. He was the first Twins player since Kirby Puckett in 1984 to collect four hits in his first game in the Big Leagues, and is the only catcher in modern history (since 1900) to tally four hits in his MLB debut.
