Best mascot on Long Island steals the show
(Central Islip, N.Y., Feb. 7, 2012) – Long Island Ducks mascot, QuackerJack, was honored by the Long Island Press on Monday for winning the honor of “Best Long Island Mascot” during their “Best of Long Island 2012” awards. QJ was joined by outfielder Ray Navarrete, who earned “Best Long Island Duck” honors, and outfielder Lew Ford, who finished second behind Navarrete.
The lovable mascot was introduced as one of the “Best of the Best” for finishing in the Top 20 of all vote getters and received a thunderous applause from those in attendance. QJ danced with guests, posed for pictures, and enjoyed some of the delicious cuisine. Navarrete and Ford also enjoyed the festivities by taking pictures with fans and talking baseball.
