Summer program welcomes Ducks mascot with open arms
(Brookville, N.Y., August 22, 2014) – QuackerJack took a trip to Brookville on Friday, August 22 to visit the LuHi Summer Program for the second time this month to take part in the program’s Field Day.
Once QJ arrived at LuHi, he was introduced to the group of kids by camp director, Jason Rivera. From here, the kids split up into four different groups to play various sports including baseball, soccer, football and lacrosse. Naturally, being the well-rounded athlete that he is, QJ decided to participate in each of the sports.
QuackerJack started with his favorite, baseball of course, and pitched to some of the younger campers. Throughout the day he was posing for pictures with all of those in attendance, including parents and spectators. When it was time for QJ to say goodbye, the lovable mascot doled out some more hugs and high-fives and took a few more pictures. The campers and camp directors all enjoyed QJ’s presence, energy and enthusiasm.
The Long Island Ducks are members of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball and play their home games at Bethpage Ballpark. For further information, call (631) 940-DUCK or visit www.liducks.com.
