QuackerJack Foundation teams up with Operation Gratitude

The Long Island Ducks would like to thank everyone who donated their extra Halloween candy to Operation Gratitude this November. Over 400 pounds of candy were brought into the executive offices at Bethpage Ballpark following Halloween.

The candy has been mailed to Operation Gratitude by the team’s charitable arm, the QuackerJack Foundation, in order to be used for care packages sent to troops fighting overseas. In addition to Halloween candy, donations of dental hygiene products were also made.

Operation Gratitude annually sends over 100,000 care packages filled with snacks, entertainment items and personal letters of appreciation addressed to individually named U.S. Service Members deployed in hostile regions, to their children left behind and to Veterans, First Responders, Wounded Warriors and their Care Givers. Their mission is to lift morale, bring a smile to a service member’s face and express to our Armed Forces the appreciation and support of the American people. Since its inception in 2003, Operation Gratitude volunteers have shipped more than 915,000 packages to American Military members.

The Long Island Ducks are members of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball and play their home games at Bethpage Ballpark. For further information, call (631) 940-DUCK or visit www.liducks.com.
