Rain stops game in fourth inning; Game will be continued on September 28

(Charleston, W.Va., June 3, 2021) – Thursday’s (June 3) series finale between the Long Island Ducks and West Virginia Power at Appalachian Power Park has been suspended due to unplayable field conditions.

The two sides had played three innings, and the Ducks had two men on with one out in the fourth before the skies opened up. The game will be continued on Tuesday, September 28, prior to the originally scheduled game between the two teams. Due to the suspended game being continued, the originally scheduled game will now be seven innings.

The Ducks continue their road trip on Friday night when they open a three-game series against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. at Regency Furniture Stadium. Fans can follow all the action on the Long Island Ducks Broadcast Network. Left-hander Chris Reed (1-0, 3.00) gets the start for the Ducks against Blue Crabs righty Daryl Thompson (1-0, 1.50).

Long Island returns home on Tuesday, June 8, to begin a three-game series against the High Point Rockers.
