Fans enjoy fun-filled day at ballpark as box office opens
(Central Islip, N.Y., March 19, 2016) – Under sunny skies on a picturesque Saturday at Bethpage Ballpark, Long Island Ducks fans came out to celebrate the Opening Day of Ticket Sales. Individual game tickets for the 2016 season were purchased by many following the opening of the box office window at 10:00 a.m.
Excellent tickets for all Ducks home games this year are now available for purchase. Fans can secure their tickets by visiting the Bethpage Ballpark box office Monday-Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. or Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tickets can also by purchased by phone at (631) 940-TIXX, online by CLICKING HERE or via the Ducks Mobile App, available for free on Apple or Android-powered devices, by clicking the “Tickets” icon.
Ducks tickets are among the most affordable, family friendly entertainment options on Long Island. Prices remain unchanged from the 2015 season at just $12.00 (box seats), $13.00 (field box) or $15.00 (club level) per seat. Fans wishing to enjoy a VIP experience at discounted prices can become season ticket or mini-plan holders by calling (631) 940-3825.
Those in attendance at Bethpage Ballpark on Saturday were treated to a fun, festival-like atmosphere. The Wiseman of WHLI emceed the morning excitement. QuackerJack and Chipper, the mascot of Herr’s Potato Chips, joined Ducks manager Kevin Baez, coach Buddy Harrelson and outfielder/bench coach Lew Ford to greet all fans, sign autographs and take pictures.
New for 2016, the Ducks had GameTruck Long Island on hand to provide some extra entertainment for all of those in attendance. Fans were able to play a host of popular video games at their mobile unit on HD Flat Panel televisions and the latest game consoles, including XBox One, PlayStation 4 and Wii-U. Kids were also able to enjoy the Ducks Bounce House and Speed Pitch.
Centerplate, the official concessions partner of the Long Island Ducks, provided complimentary food and beverages for fans as they waited in line, including coffee, hot chocolate, bagels, muffins and Herr’s Potato Chips. The Waddle In Shop, the official merchandise store of the Ducks, was also open for fans to browse a wide range of Ducks apparel and gifts, including several brand new items!
The Czark Family from Setauket, who were the first fans in line for a third consecutive year and camped out for 53 hours, received several prizes from the Ducks and club sponsors for their dedication and support. Among them were a $500 gift card, courtesy of Bethpage Federal Credit Union, as well as a 60-minute massage and facial “spa package” for parents Chris and Sharon, courtesy of LaVida Massage. The family were also awarded the opportunity for twin nine-year-old sisters Kaylin and Brianna to enjoy a Kona Ice Birthday Party package and the Trout Town Fan Can during the May 29 game against New Britain, an autographed bat for their brother, Patrick, and a luxury suite and first pitch experience for the Fan Appreciation Day game on September 11 against York.
