Record 20 fireworks shows, brand new giveaways and weekly promotions scheduled
(Central Islip, N.Y., March 18, 2019) – The Long Island Ducks today announced the team’s preliminary promotional schedule for the 20th Anniversary Season, presented by Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center. Brand new theme nights and giveaway items, along with a revamped weekly promotional lineup, will highlight this year’s calendar.
The 20th Anniversary Season on Long Island kicks off Friday, May 3rd, with Opening Night at Bethpage Ballpark. Prior to the 6:35 p.m. game against the York Revolution, the first 1,500 fans in attendance will receive Wally Backman Bobbleheads, courtesy of P.C. Richard & Son. The collectible features 1986 World Series champion and new Ducks Manager Wally Backman sporting his new gameday attire. The collectible giveaway is just one of many new items that fans will be able to take home during the 2019 season.

June 9 – 20th Anniversary Ducks Gym Towels, presented by Fairfield Properties (first 1,500 fans)
June 21 – 20th Anniversary Ducks T-Shirts, presented by Petro Home Services (first 1,500 fans)
June 27 – Ducks Beach Towels, presented by Stony Brook Children’s Hospital (first 1,500 fans)
August 30 – Mini Beach Balls, presented by Adelante of Suffolk County (first 1,500 fans)
September 8 – Ducks 20th Anniversary Can Koozies, presented by AARP (first 1,500 fans)
In honor of 20 seasons of Ducks baseball, fans will be treated to a record-high 20 Fireworks Spectaculars in 2019. Following every Saturday night home game (a total of 11), as well as after nine select games spread out during the season, all fans in attendance will watch the night sky above Bethpage Ballpark light up with the best fireworks show on Long Island. The 20 fireworks shows surpass the team’s previous record of 17, achieved as recently as 2018. Each of the Fireworks Spectaculars will be performed Garden State Fireworks, who has partnered with the Ducks in each of the past two seasons.
The Ducks will also have a one-night-only Team Re-Brand as part of Hispanic Heritage Night on August 30th. In addition to a Mini Beach Ball giveaway, the team will play as the "Long Island Patos" and wear special jerseys that will be auctioned off during the game. The night will be one of three during the season that will include a team jersey auction, joining Irish Heritage Night, presented by Shandon Court (August 13) and Breast Cancer Awareness Night (September 10th).

May 9 – Nathan’s Famous Night with pre-game Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest Qualifier
May 30 – “Bark in the Park” Night, presented by West Hills Animal Hospital and Emergency Center
June 23 – Jewish Heritage Night
June 27 – Kids Health and Safety Expo, presented by Stony Brook Children’s Hospital
July 23 – Camp Day with special 11:05 a.m. game time
August 4 – Spider-Man Appearance, presented by Skyway Pest Management
The 2019 season will also feature several new theme nights on the promotional calendar. Northwell Health will present the Look North Inspiration Series on three select nights during the season (June 8, July 6, August 31). Along with a postgame Fireworks Spectacular, fans will learn about an inspirational story regarding a person’s perseverance against an illness or disease, thanks in part to the hard work and dedication of the professionals at Northwell Health.
Another highlight of the 2019 season will come on Friday, August 2nd, when the Ducks take on the Atlantic League’s newest team, the High Point Rockers. That night, the team will host a 20th Anniversary Celebration, presented by Good Samaritan Hospital. Special guests that have played an integral role in Ducks history will be in attendance and recognized during a pre-game on-field ceremony, as the team looks back at 20 years of incredible memories. The night will be capped with a postgame Fireworks Spectacular. Further details on the 20th Anniversary Celebration will be announced at a later date.
Beyond the theme nights and giveaways featured throughout the 20th Anniversary Season, the Ducks will once again ensure that fans will be able to enjoy a promotion every night at the ballpark. The team is debuting a brand new Weekly Promotional Lineup that includes discounts on tickets, merchandise or concessions items. The 2019 weekly promo schedule is as follows:
K-MAN MERCH MONDAYS – Swings that miss will be a big hit for Ducks fans in 2019! A designated player on the opposing team will be selected as that evening’s K-Man. If the K-Man strikes out during the game, fans will receive a 10% savings on select items in the Waddle In Shop. For each additional strikeout by the K-Man, the discounts will continue to grow!
TEAL TUESDAYS – During every Tuesday home game, Ducks players and coaches will sport their brand new teal-colored 20th Anniversary Season jerseys and caps on the field (8/13 and 9/10 excluded). In addition, select 20th Anniversary merchandise will be available at discounted prices in the Waddle In Shop during the game.
WEEKEND WEDNESDAYS – We’re halfway to the weekend, but let’s celebrate like it’s already here! All fans will be invited to enjoy the normally-exclusive Duck Club restaurant and bar on the club level. The Duck Club will also feature half-price wings and half-price domestic draft beers throughout the game. Those visiting the concession stands on the main concourse will also be able to take advantage of both food and drink specials.
THIRSTY THURSDAYS – Come for the cornhole; Stay for the drink specials! Fans will be able to enjoy various drink deals, including half-price domestic draft beers in the brand new Adult Zone, located on the main concourse down the left field line. The area will also feature brand new Cornhole equipment for fans to play during the evening. Ducks staff members will also be handing out free delicious and nutritious protein bars, courtesy of RXBAR, as fans exit the ballpark (while supplies last).
FLASHBACK FRIDAYS – Celebrate the 20th Anniversary Season of Ducks baseball by rolling the calendar back to the inaugural 2000 season. Fans will be able to enjoy 2000 season pricing on select Ducks individual game tickets purchased via the team’s in-game vendors. Those purchasing tickets can secure field box seats for future Ducks games at just $9, while box seats will be only $8 (restrictions apply). In addition, Ducks staff members will be handing out coupons with a special offer from Jersey Mike’s Subs to fans as they exit the ballpark.
SPECTACULAR SATURDAYS – The most popular promotion of the year is featured every Saturday night! Enjoy the best Fireworks Spectacular on Long Island from the comfort of your seats following the game’s final out. After the show, be sure to grab your coupon for a spectacular offer from Dick’s Sporting Goods as you exit the ballpark.
SUNDAY FAMILY FUNDAYS – Prior to every Sunday home game, all fans will be invited onto the field for an autograph session with Ducks players and coaches. After the game, kids (and kids at heart) can be like their favorite Ducks player during Kids Run the Bases, presented by Bethpage Federal Credit Union.

Those wishing to secure the best seats available for each of these promotional nights are encouraged to arrive early for Opening Night of Ticket Sales on Friday, March 22nd, at Bethpage Ballpark. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m., with individual game tickets going on sale for the first time at 6:00. All fans purchasing Ducks tickets on March 22 (or who have already secured 2019 ticket plans) will have the chance to enjoy a photo and autograph opportunity with new Ducks Manager Wally Backman.
